We're in for a swampy New York weekend, so Tim and I are looking forward to taking my brother all places air conditioned. I think that means art museum... ALL day long. LOL. A few new projects from last week still in the queue to be photographed, but I'll be sure to share them soon!

Alright, I've officially got the handmade part of my site working, so just step right over to Made by Hand to check it out. The new goodies will hopefully come pretty often! Today's addition is perfect for that end of summer party, and Tim and I are pretty glad we have cupcakes in the house now.

Our bedroom is finally feeling pretty cohesive since I moved in May, but of course we'll always have a few more finishing touches. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment in Queens, and decided to take the smaller of the two bedrooms for our actual bedroom. We use the "master bedroom" as our studio space, which I'll post pictures of sometime soon!

Clearly we don't have room for a dresser or the typical storage furniture, so we use galvanized bins from Ikea to store all of our foldable clothing. Tim and I try very hard to live with and buy less so our tiny closet is JUST enough room for all of my photography equipment, our shoes and clothing on hangers. By JUST I don't mean all shoved in either, it really just fits perfectly!

The art in this room is particularly meaningful. All of it was made by dear friends, mentors and one is a self portrait of Tim and I. The vintage feed sacks were a gift from my mom, and we stretched them over canvas stretchers to hang.

This morning I photographed a dear friend's jewelry for her brand new etsy site. I worked on her branding with a little art direction and technical advice from Tim, and now that I've taken some photos I'm getting so excited to see her shop open! It was so fun to collect all sorts of Anna-ish goodies from my house to use for the shoot, and I'm really pleased with the way things are coming together!

I've finished piecing the top of the lattice quilt, named for the lattice shape of the chartreuse and for the morning glory type flowers in the kaffe print. Since it is so unbearably hot outside I'm staying indoors and a little hand quilting will keep me busy. I'm really excited aboutthe pink linen blend I found for the border and back. The fabric has this little bit of shine and depth because it is yarn dyed, and the hand quilting looks just stunning on the back!
